Reading Program

Reading Programs are available for children ages from 8+. Our goal is to ensure that the students are at par with reading and speaking according to international benchmarks. We are dedicated in  nurturing the love of reading in children and young adults.

Reading Packs are according to the interest and reading level of the child and there are many engaging activities such as theme days, role playing, interactive projects etc.  This is an exclusive reading program and we do not accept more than 10 students in one group.  This program is designed to make your child an independent reader for life.  Reading Programs are based on Lexile Assessment of your child. Books are matched according to your child's lexile score and a reading plan is made to improve the lexile score. Students are also given vocabulary exercises to further enhance fluency in reading. Please click here for more information on registering for the program.

+ What is a Lexile Score?

The Lexile scale is like a thermometer, except rather than measuring temperature, the Lexile Framework measures a text’s complexity and a reader’s skill level. The Lexile Framework for Reading is a scientific approach to measuring reading ability and the text demand of reading materials. The Lexile Framework involves a scale for measuring both reading ability of an individual and the text complexity of materials he or she encounters.

+ Lexile Reading Framework

Once the Lexile score of the student is determined the readings are then matched according to the Lexile score. If the lexile score is less than the grade-level in the Lexile Reading Framework then a plan is made to gradually increase the Lexile score to bring the student at required grade level according to international standards. If the Lexile score is at par with the grade-level it can further be improved to a higher score. Reading Packs are provided by Ray Academics. Reading packs are put together according to the interest level and lexile score of the child.
